Millions of children nationwide are growing up without fathers for a variety of circumstances — imprisonment, abandonment, vacancy.
Malachi Dads is tackling this epidemic by challenging and teaching Christian men how to grow into godly parents, equipping them to spiritually train their children regardless of their circumstances and intentionally build a legacy of faith in Christ.
Malachi Dads is where fathers develop community and learn to live up to their biblical responsibility as a father.
one day with god prison ministry
One Day with God has reconnected thousands of children to their incarcerated parents. Team 5:18 has partnered with Forgiven Ministries to provide this ministry in Louisiana. Each year fathers and children are reunited and able to build a bond. This event is followed up with powerful Malachi Dad programs to help these men become the fathers God meant them to be.
Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction of any kind.
Campus Outreach
Since 1978 we have ministered to thousands of youth and families in southeast Louisiana. Although the ministry has moved primarily into work with at-risk youth in recent years, Campus Outreach director Jeff Boren maintains a vibrant campus ministry where he sponsors the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Club and serves as chaplain for several sports teams.
Life Coaches for Kids trains Christian men to be mentors to the boys who reside at the Greater New Orleans Methodist Children's Home in Mandeville, LA. The live at the Home for about 6 months and our Life Coaches visit them weekly until they discharge. They also attend some of the special outings with the boys. The children living at the Methodist Childrens Home are all wards of the state and are staying at the home for various and confidential reasons. The ministry of TEAM 5:18 to the home is to provide Young Life meetings and events for the children and to make sure that each child who wants one has a Life Coach of his/her own. Last year we were able to provide each child with a Christmas gift. Team 5:18 also provides trips to the Zoo, Aquarium of the Americas, minor league baseball games and a day at a water park.
